<p>Are you applying this year? If yes, try to write a good PS and demonstrate interest in your major by joining econ club or participate in other EC. UCLA is really strict about pre-req, so leaving 4 to take in the spring is like committing suicide… If you are applying next year for fall 2013, then you should be fine.</p>
<p>PS: Cal and LA’s Econ are both highly selective, which means if one requires a 3.8 or above like you said, chances are the other require the same. Which is why I said don’t listen to your counselor advice -,-</p>
