Just wait and see. In my opinion, the reasons you stated in your first thread ( which this has been merged into) are not strong. But since I’m not an adcom, just wait and see.
There are many valid/strong reasons for students to transfer, some stronger than others to be sure. I don’t know your reasons for transfer but I do want to note that at many schools AOs are mandated reporters. Make sure to spend the majority of your transfer essays on why the new school, not why your current school doesn’t work.
I agree with others that all you can do is put in apps and see what happens. Many of the highly rejective schools reserve a not insignificant proportion of their transfer spots for community college students, students from specialty schools like Deep Springs, and veterans. Athletes too, the numbers can vary year to year.
Specifically regarding Columbia, make sure you take a look at what’s required wrt to the core classes for transfers…those requirements couldn’t be more different than where you currently are.
Agree that it is important to understand the core requirements at Columbia University. This can be a deal breaker for some.
