Transfer from UCSD

" I felt even more like a number that I ever have at UCSD."

Cal has smaller class sizes and a better student/faculty ratio than UCSD, so I think that’s probably all in your head.

If you pass three years or more of high school language, or got certain test grades, you pass out of the requirement, or at least freshmen do, and I don’t know why you would not as a transfer- call and ask!

Language classes are the easiest. Not much work for 5 units, and work anyone can do. You can take it in summer too, but it’s nice to take it during the schoolyear for balance.

As well, in the 21st century, it’s a bit of a shame to not be able to speak a second language… In France, you have to learn at least two foreign languages in high school…

Q: how deep is the language requirement at Cal? 4 semesters/2 years’ worth?
