Transfer student for CAS Ethnomusicology major

NYU’s website is not entirely clear about this, but it appears that the music major in the College of Arts and Sciences is a general music major and that the ethnomusicology program is a graduate specialization. So, you should check this out.

BTW, unless you have unlimited money or don’t mind excessive student loan debt, I’d suggest looking at other options besides NYU. Indiana U. has a Department of Folklore & Ethnomusicology that has a much more extensive program than NYU. It’s in the College of Arts & Sciences.

The anthropology dept. is pretty good, too. [Indiana University Anthropology Department](http://www.indiana.edu/~anthro/noflash.html)

The Jacobs School of Music at IU is #1 in the country.[Jacobs School of Music](http://www.music.indiana.edu/)

About IU http://www.iub.edu/:</a> Bloomington, IN is the quintessential college town. A beautiful campus. It’s only an hour from Indianapolis in an area of beautiful state parks and US forests. Very internationally diverse.
