You are correct, the transfer application deadline is February 1st. No, you do not have to finsh your semester before submitting your application, but your first semester will probably have ended in December anyway so there should be no problem.

***Financial aid deadlines for transfers are the same as for freshman applicants - so DON’T miss them! The FAFSA and CSS/Profile are both due Febrary 2nd, and tax returns in March (or as soon as possible).

If you submit the application before your Fall grades are available you report the grades online and/or send in a grade report as soon as they are available. (You might even need an official transcript - be sure to check!) MANY transfer applicants are also asked for a Spring grade report - instead of receiving an acceptance or rejection in June, they receive a request for Spring grades. For students with late-ending semesters the wait seems very long - this year applicants were still waiting to hear in late July!

Your high-school stats look just fine to me, which is good because applicants with fewer than 30 college units are considered mainly on their high school record.

Every year there is a GREAT USC transfer thread on the transfer forum - 2011 should be starting up soon.
