transferring from east coast

The good news is that USC awards the same financial aid to transfers as to students who begin as freshmen. They do, however, also use the CSS/Profile to determine need, so the amount you are expected to contribute may differ from your FAFSA EFC. LOTS of financial aid info here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/839970-faq-usc-financial-aid-2010-a.html?highlight=faq+financial+aid</a></p>

You are correct, there is no “Spring Semester” application. The Spring semester admits come from the pool of applicants for the previous fall. So to be admitted for Spring 2011, for example, you would have had to apply for Fall 2010 admission last January. The earliest term you can currently apply for is Fall 2011, and that application for transfer students will be due approximately February 1st, 2011.

IMPORTANT: Financial aid applications for transfer students have the same due dates as for freshman, so your FAFSA and CSS/Profile will also be due February 1st or 2nd. Don’t wait until after you apply for admission to apply for financial aid if you cannot attend without it!

Good luck!
