<p>taxguy, I agree with you. But I could not think of anyone top of my head who is contemporary to the student here, and I happened to adore Melinda Beck from the first time I saw her works on the Voice. She seems to be the good role model, if not the poster child of RISD for incoming students, especially girls who want something more than just technical training: namely romance(biggest- she met her SO at RISD), fashion(bigger), fine art(big), history, music, politics, all the works.</p>
<p>Here is my poster child (middle aged man) of SVA. I have heard that SVA literally opened the door and pushed him through onto the road which was already paved by his peers and instructors.
