Transportation at Pitt

The only time a car becomes convenient is when you move into an apartment off campus and/or co-op. I appreciated the convenience of my car my senior year (the only year I had it) so that I could go grocery shopping whenever I wanted, drive to the theater for midnight releases, or go around town without having to wait for a bus. I also volunteering at a shelter weekly and being able to stick to their schedule (which isn’t necessarily bus friendly) made a huge difference.

However as a freshman you don’t need it. Very few people had a car freshman year, or even sophomore year.
