Where is that?
Tubac is fun. Once. Don’t see it as an overnight, though. Not enough to do or places to stay/eat in the area. We went last year during their annual fair (or whatever they call it). It only took a couple of hours to see everything then the longish trip back.
No to Tubac. I’m not interested in artsy shops, and I’m sure my husband and son aren’t either.
Doesn’t sound like there is much else there…
Great photos of restaurants in Sedona and in Phoenix.
Saving for Phoenix ideas. Not going back to Sedona on this trip.
The place in Tombstone sounds like fun…and I think it’s on the way to Bisbee.
So far…Bisbee is the winner in this hunt.
also near tubac:
Oh well. it’s quite charming. fun for a day and to see the nearby spanish mission. The desert museum is also a nice day activity.
Our son would probably recommend a driving tour of Ft. Huachuca, complete with Army food and lodging. ![]()
My SIL worked there for years. Did the commute to/from Tucson daily!
Thanks for all the help. The winner is an overnight trip to Bisbee. Stop on the way back to eat in Tucson. I think it’s going to be fun. We will stay within walking distance of the downtown!
Kartchner Caverns State Park is a great stop for a couple hours on the way to/from Bisbee. Awesome guided cave tour. Buy your tickets in advance.
Kartchner Caverns
Another option on the way to Bisbee is the Pima Air and Space Museum.
The Pima Air & Space museum has been one of our son’s favorite places since he was little. We were surprised he was not interested in the USAFA.
A definite must, at least once.
ETA: Always loved this one:
That’s in Tucson, near the airport. There are also lots and lots of extra military planes stored at Davis-Monthan AFB. interesting to see driving by!
