<p>I saw a private message in my inbox this morning re: conditions in Turkey. Now that I’ve returned to CC to consider a careful reply, the message is no longer there. Please re-send if you would still like a response (I’m sorry, I don’t remember the poster’s name).</p>
<p>I have friends who just returned from 3 weeks in Turkey. They were in all parts of the country except the Southeast region. They were traveling independently with a small group of people, one of whom lived in Turkey for several years 20 years ago. Although they did see some protests they said they never felt threatened.</p>
<p>I was in Turkey several years ago on a Tauck tour. We have been very happy with Tauck although they are a bit pricey.</p>
<p>If I were to go to Turkey this year, I would only do it with a professional tour agency (vs. independently) just to steer as clear as possible from any trouble.</p>
