Definitely work on and retake CFA. Son (class of '13) took it at NASS; we were informed he was “Triple Q’d” in Nov 08. He worked hard all fall and wanted to retake, so contacted USNA, gave them coache’s email, they sent coach form to fill out and he re-took and re-submitted better results just before Christmas.

I was actually in the Admissions office in Nov while he was at CVW. Asked your same question, “will his app go before the board again if he submits a new CFA?” Answer, “No.” They then explained they have a scoring system and would update his score. The Admissions Board does not need to review if CFA scores go up. Makes sense. They cannot revisit each app over and over. I’m sure the system is something like XX points for XX situps, XX points for XX pullups, etc. resulting in a score that becomes part of the WCS.

It looks great to re-take. Shows determination, desire, etc…
