Note that, in California, there are very few public colleges and universities that do not qualify (by student population numbers) as some sort of MSI (generally HSI or AANHPISI or both) – CPSLO, CSUMA, and a few community colleges in the rural northern part of the state are ones that do not qualify. But note that not all colleges and universities that qualify get MSI status, and that MSIs did not automatically get additional grants – it appears that most did not get additional grants.
