Trump: Non-Political

Define non-political because …

“I like the blouse a lot, and used to wear it to clients. But I am kind of feeling uncomfortable about wearing it and am wondering if on principle I should get rid of it.”

“I would, personally, donate anything I found who had the trump brand- any of the trumps. But I have a visceral reaction to the brand name so…”

“I am also not into labels. Especially labels that denote what this one does. So No.”

“I don’t think you should toss the blouse. Keep it. But don’t buy anything else from Trump, Trump’s brands or from Ivanka’s line and yes it is because of principle. I do like Trump’s kids but I would be wary doing business with them.”

“I’d keep the blouse.Throwing it away wouldn’t affect the election, and why waste good clothing?”

… among other comments - if not political - certainly toe that line.

And no I’m not a Trump fan … Not a Clinton fan either. And my comment is no more political than the above.

Never purchased anything with Donald Trump’s label on it (not a luxury brand in my view), never watched the apprentice or visited one of his casinos, never went to one of his resorts or purchased one of his condos and was unaware of the water, coffee, steaks and chocolate that apparently bear his name. I did stay in one of his hotels - threw a party a couple of summers ago for my D and her girlfriends in NYC. Chose the Trump Soho Hotel solely for the reason that it has a roof deck pool and is located in Soho which is a great neighborhood for young girls. Hotel was fine - nothing extraordinary.

Trump Tower is kind of outdated - not sure if it was renovated but there used to be a lot of that pinkish marble everywhere. It pales in comparison to midtown’s Time Warner Center and downtown’s Brookfield Place. Not even sure what retail stores are still in Trump Tower.

I actually like Ivanka Trump and I also like selected styles from her shoe line. I would not wear the styles linked in post #6 but I own these strappy heels which I love:

I also own a pair of her black suede pumps for professional wear and just purchased these flats for the Fall:

Her clothing line is classic, tailored and inexpensive. I own two of her blouses and D has a few of her summer dresses. These are not things that you are going to have in your closet 5 years from now - you will get a season or 2 out of them and many of her blouses can actually be machine washed.

Should I boycott Ivanka because she supports her father? I don’t think so. She’s an educated and poised young woman who despite being in the glare of the spotlight has managed to maintain a pretty spotless public persona. She’s also a businesswoman, mother and wife who seemingly manages all those roles successfully. I think she deserves to be judged on her own merits.

Must be early but I first read that as “Buy condoms in Trump buildings?”

Those would be gold condoms from a gold dispenser!

Eek, with the logo?
