You are on a great track. congratulations on turning things around as you have. I knew of someone with a similar background to the one you describe. She finished up her BA at a 4 year school but didn’t stop there. She continued on, got her PhD and was a faculty member at a university for many many years. Keep it up, you’re doing great!
