<p>Aside from the GAO report saying that the new imaging scanners might not have caught the underwear bomber that prompted their implementation (see the link in an earlier post of mine), you have stories like this one from Adam Savage (one of the hosts of MythBusters), who recently went through security (not specified if an AIT scanner or just the x-ray machine) with two 12" razor blades that weren’t caught. And this isn’t exactly a standalone incident.</p>
<p>And this isn’t caught 50% of the time with a metal detector. I’m not a large woman and have little adipose tissue covering this hunk of metal. This scares me way more than so called enhanced pat-downs.</p>
