@enjoylifeandbehappy I think it’s less about that in itself, and more about accepting students who they think will actually attend, thereby increasing yield/ lowering acceptance rate. They have a huge marketing campaign (they sent posters to every senior at my high school and held THREE information sessions), a free application, ED1 & 2 and EA, make their essays optional, and wait as late as possible to finalize their admissions. All these things contribute to more applicants but fewer (relative) admits. I’d like to see the data on how many people are deferred/ denied ED, my guess is it’s pretty low.
