Congratulations! Was Spring Scholar an option you checked when applying for ED?
Yes.
Congrats ! Any scholarship offered
Well done! Love the family roll wave spirit!
No scholarship. Heās lucky to have been accepted. His brother applied early action in 2020 and got $24k. We were bracing for rejection. We just came back from the ACC Championship game in NOLA this weekend. He was so excited. I will be curious to see the admission trend this year due to the big drop in rankings. I think being a boy had to help because they have such a skewed 3-1 female/male ratio.
Wishing him the very best and sure is excited
Daughter was just admitted ED to Tulane! Good luck to all!
Roll Wave!
Son got in today ED1!
My son was admitted as a spring scholar. Heās looking forward to meeting others in the same situation.
Congrats to all who were accepted.
We are in EA category, and so we have to wait a while. What is the general sense of how ED went this year? In my DD school, there were more rejections than expected (in fact very few ED acceptances). This thread has been pretty quiet compared to other years, and there has been no rejections reported. Is Tulane moving away from ED model? Or is this going to be the general story of all schools this year (like Cornell announced publicly)?
I read somewhere that ED applications were up 20%. And in the parent FB group several people wrote that siblings of their current Tulane students were not accepted ED (donāt know if they were denied or deferred).
That would be very surprising since they are well known for yield protecting.
The new director of admissions is not a fan of ED.
Interesting.
Son was accepted ED yesterday! Couldnāt be more excited!!
I would say the fact that itās quiet here says it all. ED was rough this year from what I know. Maybe Tulane has decided that itās acceptance rate is now so low that now is the time to capitalize on it and rein in the ED yield. Or maybe they decided they had to rectify the gender gap. Or both.
The private girls schools in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area did very well. We know of 12 from three schools, an additional three from another coed school, and two from public schools. Only two males. The rest are female.
I saw many kids on Facebook group getting in ED or for spring scholars
Are there any updates on the EA notification date?
12/20 last year and seem to recall that date pretty consistent with years prior to it - my guess is you have another 10 days +/- to wait.
