How many of you got into honors program and also was merit aid given to ED applicants ?
Are you asking about people being admitted this year or last? If last - you might have better luck with your post on the 2023 admission thread.
My son just received a canned email about withdrawing his application if he has been accepted ED somewhere else. In that email it says EA decisions âby January 15thâ. Is the Jan 15 just a placeholder date that they always list, even though 12/20 is closer to the actual EA notification?
I wonât be surprised if they do move notification to January as it gives more time for those accepted ED to withdraw but who knows. Itâs also in line with what so many other colleges do.
EA was scheduled to be released on Jan 10, with ED 2 deadline of Jan 15
if they truly wait until after the new year to release they are hoping to scrape any and all applicants who pulled their apps due to being admitted elsewhere ED and it seems to look like they really are trying to extend as many EA offers as they can. wish they released a blog post summarizing how EDI went - total number of seats filled thus far, total apps, total offered spring scholarsâŠ
They are being very proactive with asking people who got virtual confetti from another school via EDI to pull their applications.
#respect
Maybe the more people who follow up and do that it will allow them to get a better idea as to how many apps they need to finalize and then commit to a decision release date.
Yes, they are! D24 says sheâs gotten 2 emails in the last few days reminding her to pull her app if sheâs been accepted ED. She got good news yesterday and has already pulled her app. Good luck to everyone waiting and I hope you hear next week vs. Jan!
They did same last year. Seem to recall a few other schools sending same messages reminding kids to pull their apps if they were an ED admit someplace else.
Anyone thinking there is a chance for EA release this week? 12/20 the past 2 yearsâŠ
Wouldnât surprise me at all if EA were released this week sometime. I have no specific knowledge but do know that their typical âby Jan XXâ is consistent with past years and at least the last few years they release EA this week. Under-commit, Over-deliver (not unlike the timelines and notifications done by many schools).
I looked back at the last 5 years and itâs been Dec.20.
Withdrew app tonight.
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear. Hope itâs this week and not after the start of the new year.
Maybe I missed it. Did you decide Tulane isnât for you or got in Ed elsewhere ?
ED elsewhere.
So how does the timing work for merit aid in connection with early action decisions? Will the merit aid offer come at the same time by Jan 10? Considering ED2 at another school but significant Tulane merit aid would mean I ditch the ED2.
Merit will be listed in the acceptance letter in the portal
Do you mean Merit or Aid? Two different things. Merit awards will be part of acceptance letter. Assuming you do CSS and in a few weeks FAFSA, aid will get awarded likely Feb at earliest.
They just posted on IG, 12/20 at 4CST EA decisions will go out.
Thanks so much! And it looks like we are only 2 days out!
