How are you making this choice at this late date? And when did you “meet”’these professors during this pandemic?
Oy… Go Blue!!! Professors at Michigan happen to be nice people. They also tend to be leading researchers in the country… The school is ranked in the top 10 of about 40 majors etc etc.
It runs like a private to those not in the know. Sure it’s not as small as Columbia but my now senior son had many classes in engineering that were 20-40 students.
Going to Michigan won’t hold you back in getting a job especially in CS. It’s a national brand not a regional brand.
More importantly, it’s a great campus and yes safe. It’s typically voted as one of the best campuses in the United States.
It’s NOT your typical public. It’s a very academic school and kids are there to learn, and to see some spring football (see what I did there ??). It’s a much harder school then people realize…
. You won’t regret your time in Ann Arbor. Go Blue.
D '24 turned down Brown for UM. We are lucky enough to be IS for UM. We would have supported her decision either way, and she was dead set on Brown, until she did a summer program there and visited UM early in her Senior year…she did Early to M, got accepted and Brown regular admit.
