seeking: I have a son who is a sophomore at UGA and a second one who was accepted EA, but went elsewhere. Both of my boys’ stats were significantly lower than your girls. I would bet $$ they get in EA. It is so nice to know by Christmas they are in and not have to stress til spring! My boys had plenty of EC’s and it was disappointing to leave all that info off the app, but it was so nice to fill in a few numbers, send a transcript and be done with it. It is not binding, so there is no reason NOT to do it. Your girls have NO chance of being denied…they deny very few (low SAT, low GPA, easy classes).

As far as housing goes…some dorms are nicer than others. If your daughters get in the honors program, that dorm is by far the nicest. Yes, apartments are cheaper if you don’t buy a meal plan…however, if you want to be sure they are eating, you buy it…so the cost is very comparable. You might do better buying something so you can establish residency, if that is an option for you.

What to do if your girls don’t drink: there are many, many clubs and organizations to get involved in that do not involve partying. It depends on their interests. There are many faith-based groups, civic groups, cultural, etc. It is not hard to find a place to belong.

We live less than an hour from UGA, but son doesn’t come home much…it’s just too fun to stay in Athens! Best wishes to your girls!!
