Im still waiting on an offer of admission for Architecture
losing hope
Hi House…
Please has any one of you waiting for the scholarship commuted yet?
@Ripples98 … I meant committed…
@charan1303 how long did it take for you to get your scholarship decision after you got accepted? Did you get it with your admission?
@Vihangi17 I got admission in January ending, Got scholarship decision in early April. But, I was notified that Scholarship decisions will be out from Mid-March to April.
@charan1303 oh alright, thank you.
I am a university transfer from California (with Canadian Citizenship). I applied in Dec 2019 to Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science and it says “Ready for Review”. I got admitted to UC Davis, UCI, Purdue & UCSD so far and have to accept UC’s by June 1st, 2020. I applied to UBC and Mcgill. I hope both UBC and Mcgill releases the decision hopefully soon. The waiting game is unbearable with hardly any communication, unlike US universities.
Im applying for undergrad Architecture abd SAME. The wait is unbearable. I have to commit to UofT or Boston or any other schools I got into by May 1st so I’m crossing my fingers UBC lets me know before then!! Best of luck to you!
Had received the status:
“We have evaluated your application and due to the competitive nature of your program, we are not able to offer you admission at this time. We will continue to monitor your competitiveness relative to the rest of the applicant pool and any changes to your application status will be noted here on the UBC Student Service Centre. You do not need to submit any additional documents or transcripts.”
Is this the same waitlist as ones with dates? What is the difference between them?
Please guys, I do not know if it’s a proper thing to do but I am willing to take the risk.
I really need your help in terms of committing, I only have from now till 30th may before the admission is rescinded.
I spoke with someone who is willing to help me speak to a known figure after the Ramadan fast which ends next month but if I don’t commit now, I would lose the admission. I was a DWS nominee, didn’t get the scholarship tho.
Please help a friend.
Just got accepted today for their Computer Science Program!
I applied from a community college in the US. I am a business major but decided to apply to UBC’s CS program because i was torn between business and computer science. Is their CS program any good?
oh and my stats
CGPA: 4.0 (mostly business classes, and completed calculus II)
EC: Vice president of business club, public relations of southeast asian club, alpha gamma sigma (honor society)
Essays: i’d rate it a 5.5/10
Work: Intern at a steel manufacturing company after high school. Currently working as a tutor at my college.
Other schools: Accepted to UCLA’s business economics program. Waitlisted to UC Berkeley’s economics program. Got accepted to all other UCs too.
Currently waiting for U. Southern California, NYU and cornell university.
American HS Senior
UW GPA: 3.58
ACT: 26
Lots of EC’s and amazing essay that provides examples of leadership and passion (I’ve run schoolwide events, nominated to speak at graduation, etc.)
No scholarships
Just an average American student
I was waitlisted for BofA at Vancouver, Denied BofS at Vancouver, and Accepted BofA at Okanagan.
I am not going to be able to submit my final transcript to UBC due to not having final grades until the beginning of June so my waitlist decision is STRESSING ME OUT! I would like to submit more documents (I’ve been nominated for awards and have done more EC’s) but I’m not able to do that according to the admissions office
I was told there is nothing I can do but wait to hear back… what do you think my chances are?
Anyone here coming to Okanagan’s campus?
@charan1303 .
Hopefully I should… I pleaded with UBC to wait a lil until after the Ramadan fast so my acceptance fees can be paid alongside my fees…
I pray they do…
