UC’s are need blind meaning they do not take your finances into consideration when they review your application.
If your family is moving to California prior to you matriculating to a UC, you will need to prove that you plan establish permanent residency in California (not for tuition purposes) and be here 366 days prior to your residency determination before you can get in-state tuition.
UC’s are FASFA only schools so apply if you need financial aid. Just remember you may be paying OOS tuition your first year at a UC.
