UC-B Letters and Science transfer requirements? IGETC, L&S breadth, Assist confusion

failure, if listening to Assist and the UC link, it’s not just the 4 classes. But the 4 classes plus 2 English classes, 2 foreign language classes, which would be at least 30 credits… a whole year. Adding 23 math and 20 computer science would mean 73 credits total.

IGETC would require 38 without counting the math requirement… if I’d need 30 credits without completing IGETC, might as well do 8 more credits to get it completed, it sounds like. Computer science classes aren’t applicable to IGETC, as far as I’ve read. And indeed none of the CS courses at my CC are relevant for transferring… I’ll have to take the CS courses at 1-3 other CCs.

I appreciate all you said. I was wondering how much the CS mattered. Technically I could take no CS courses and hope for the best, but it sounds like that would really reduce my chances of admission, yeah? Though getting the 12 credits worth of 61A/B/C completed at CCs will likely require close to 25 credits at CCs. But that would mean 61A/B/C all articulated and done at CCs… leaving just CS 70. Is it common for science majors to take over 70 credits at CCs before transfering to UC/CSU?

Plan B is (as of now) a Davis TAG. Plan C is… go to whoever will take me, haha. I’ve been looking up articulations to find what would work reasonably well for both Davis and Berkeley CS.

underbear, that’s good to know. I’ll try to pack on the IGETC early. I fear a high credit load’s risk to GPA, but if I’m not good enough to get A’s doing that, then I should be reconsidering my plans anyway.
