UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

Sorry if this was answered earlier but is there a designated time that decisions will be posted? Or are they coming out at midnight?

Or are we clueless? Lol

@bolognese
everyone’s saying 5pm pacific time

@transfer2016CA All lower division units are capped at 70 semester units. All classes taken beyond that limit can give you subject credit. You’re fine - just complete major prerequisites, IGETC, and try to complete graduation requirements (i.e. American Cultures requirement) if you can, to get that over with. Good luck!

What’s your major?

Everybody should refrain from wearing red tomorrow.

@ydidusaythatname

Oh nice :slight_smile: thanks

@clinic34 Do you think the admissions officers saw it? If so, do you think they’d remember your username and be able to figure out who you are when going through applications? I’d be worried if I were you.

@goldencub I’m on Stanford’s portal right now … do you think Berkeley admin officers will know and rescind my application?

@briank82 Nah seems really unlikely

Not trying to add fuel to the fire, but:

I’m willing to bet decisions will come out at 3PM this year.

i heard people calling in and getting their decisions early…?

@Hiroaki0422 is that link for this year? Or 2015?? Edit: they were last years :frowning:

My friend who is a computer genius told me that the page on MAP Berkeley was generated on server and it’s static (basically it’s just a picture). So, size of the period marks means nothing. They use a system which was created in Yale in 2000. We just also tried to find any “signs” of the decision :slight_smile: but it’s impossible unfortunately. They will generate a new page instantly once the decision is appearing in database

guys I won’t be able to fall asleep tonight

I think they will do it at 5pm. UCSD and UCLA had their’s at 5pm, I’m pretty sure they do it at 5pm so we can’t call them and bug their offices, since the office closes at 5. Good luck to all of you, I hope we all get in! :slight_smile:

@kotokote I think they were kidding about the period size lol

@UCLAFFF Don’t lie to me, sir. I will be in class at that time and I don’t want to have a mental breakdown in the middle of calculus that isn’t caused by the calculus itself.

The best indicator may be when the office closes which is at 4PM.

@Hiroaki0422 omg. On average, only 9 students are admitted per year from my school. For perspective, about 12% of applicants are admitted.

@UCLAFFF yep you’re right offices close at four I think it’ll be at 4

I think freshmen this year got decisions at 4.
