When I do the second method I get this, not sure why it is different than what is shown in the document:

You should be able to just cut and paste.
If not, there are also linking and pic selecting icons in the reply box.
If you’re accepted you will be able to successfully login with an ID being displayed in the top right corner. Anything else means waitlist/reject
Also the bottom part of the doc says: some people are using the wrong link for the calnet method. instead of the one above, they are clicking this link: https://calcentral.berkeley.edu/. ALL user logins will say “unrecognized login” (left image) the first time & once you login again, it will say “not authorized” (right image). therefore, do not use this link & ignore these pages.
