Also, prestige is relative. Cal is known for sure, but that’s not only for good reasons. You could say the similar things for UCSB, maybe not as much for Davis. In the area you mentioned going into after graduating it may not be a big deal, but in some instances, being from CAL would be good and in other instances it might get your application skipped. It depends on the reader and their impression of the school, which is why I think it’s more important to focus on what you can control which is where you will do best. Sounds like UCSB is it for you given the way you speak about it. Your emotion comes across positive in the thread when you mention it, in comparison to the others. Good Luck!
