I understand that Berkeley is competitive, but spectrum-wise, in what way is it competitive? Is it competitive in that everyone is cut throat and if you drown, your peers will just essentially choke you and quicken your death? Or is it the kind of competitiveness that pushes you out of your comfort zone rather than drowns you completely? Is there more of a divide among Berkeley students than among students at other elite universities (public or private)?

@alwayswonderines Thank you, I really appreciate that you are willing to answer our questions!!! That does make me feel a bit better about safety… As to the College of Chemistry thing, I have heard about that possibility and have also been very concerned about it. One of the main things that attracted me to Cal in the first place was the College of Chemistry, and I was so excited to get accepted to it as a ChemE major! I literally danced around my house for like an hour! I heard about the possibility of it getting dissolved two weeks ago 
Do you know how real this possibility is, and if it is going to happen, when? Would it stay for the time it takes for the people accepted to it this year to graduate, or would we be moved to the CoE/L&S? Thanks again!
Going to take a tour of Berkeley in the morning… get my decision that afternoon; part of me hopes I dislike it so if I get rejected I’ll have nothing to be sad about

@GingerTea12 From what I’ve heard around campus and on DailyCal, if they dissolve CoC ChemE will be moved to CoE. I hope they don’t dissolve Coc! Like CNR, there are a lot of benefits to having a smaller college within a large research institution. I’m not in any of the majors in the college of chemistry, but I do have friends in it and they have had wonderful experiences for both their careers and social lives. I don’t know if they will or will not dissolve it, though.
Last school I’m waiting on, rejected by UCLA, wait listed for UCSB, accepted into UCSD. So far it’s looking like I’m going to UCSD, anyone looking for an off campus roommate? lol
