UC Berkeley Legal Studies or Sociology

Actually I checked and sociology might be slightly harder to get into (average gpa of admits was about .2 higher). But anyway, to back up what I said above:

Legal studies majors do poorly on the LSAT (perhaps too much memorization and not enough critical thinking?)

[Average LSAT Scores for 29 Majors with over 400 Students Taking the Exam](http://www.phil.ufl.edu/ugrad/whatis/LSATtable.html)

Legal Studies majors get worse GPAs

Berkeley
Fall 2008
Enrollees Cumulative UC GPA (after one year)

Legal Professions And Studies 14 2.98
Social Sciences 235 3.41

I pulled this off of statfinder.ucop.edu

custom tables –> persistence, graduation, and college GPA by entering class –> transfer students from california community colleges –> Fall 2008 (though you can select whichever years you like, the trend persists) –> California residents –> Berkeley –> UC GPA –> simple table –> most recent field of study –> run table

Obviously 14 is an extremely small sample size, but the figures still roughly agree with the past years and with what i’ve heard from friends.
