UC Berkeley Regents for Transfer students

Did you get a message on your portal?

I got an email than checked my Financial aid and I have the scholarship… 4.0 poli sci. Not a first Gen. 22 and Independent from parents

Awesome congratulations!

Thanks! still in shock

Seems odd that this person is the only one to get it and that was their first post. Has anyone else received it?

Nothing for me either. I really want/need it. :(

Ya, I’ve been lurking for a minute now and figured it’d be a help to create an account and let you guys know… A lot of good info on this site.

Same here. I am literally dying to get it. Otherwise I will not be able to go to school…

I doubt I’ll get it but if I do…I would need oxygen immediately :stuck_out_tongue:

Just got off the phone with someone from financial aid, he said that everyone who has been awarded regents has probably been notified already :frowning:

So weird only 1 person posted about getting it. Wonder how many they gave out. … oh well off to enjoy my summer and withdraw my admission to berkeley :(

@lamelcriada why are you withdrawing your admission???

Long story but basically they are charging me oos tuition even though I’m a ca resident and I’m not allowed to receive any kind of state or fed aid. So unless I win the lottery this summer, I won’t be able to afford it . It’s ok though I was kind of expecting it

Why are they charging you out of state? Have you lived here more than two years? Do you parents live out of state @lamelcriada

your*

@lamelcriada‌

If at least one of your parents isn’t a California resident and you are under the age of 24, then you’ll be charged OOS tuition. If you’ve lived in California for about a year or less, this too will cause you to be considered an OOS student. Does this describe your current situation?

If not, you might want to call Berkeley’s financial aid office. They may have made a mistake.

Like I said it’s a long story (boring) and unfortunately Is not a mistake. I talked about my situation briefly in my ps hoping it would help me get the regents but guess not. Thanks for the info though @Cayton‌

@pdib818 Could you please paste the complete wording of your email notification, with your name blanked out? Please understand that this situation is obviously suspicious. Thank you.
