<p>Depending on the intended major, switching might not be possible at all. You should check the department’s individual policy on major changes to make sure you can do it.</p>
<p>And yes, typically you’re limited to 2 years, or until you hit the unit ceiling. There are some exceptions, like CoE will automatically grant an extra semester to transfers who are missing a certain number of pre-reqs. That’ll vary by college as well.</p>
<p>If the goal is to drastically change your major (english to eecs, or something) you’re probably out of luck. If they’re similar enough that you won’t be behind, it’ll be much easier.</p>
