Hello all, my first post of the day. I’m at school, I just can’t stay away. Anyone heard from SB yet? And I already asked this, but do they post decisions throughout the day or just at a certain time? What about SD and Davis?

what does a panic attack feel like? i swear…while walking to my midterms today… i think i started to have a small one…

Uncontrollable nervousness? I usually yawn or make myself a little tired to calm down…

i started breathing realy rapidly, as if trying to struggle air in…

Damn, computer broke so no cc whoring…

*Sigh I miss you guys =

we miss you too… cardinal :D

Okay, here comes my opinion -
I havent heard from any schools yet: not uci, ucsd, or ucsb. Now, none of these three schools is at the top of my collegiate totem pole (although they are all good schools I would attend if Stanford, Berkeley, LA or Pepperdine don’t work out), but I would appreciate an acceptance letter: both as a safety net to give me a feeling of security and as a means of affirming my standing as superiorly well qualified transfer student. In high school, I remember colleges admitting the most qualified candidates right from the start, and it was the mediocre students left in acceptance letter limbo. Now, as a transfer applicant awaiting decisions, this does not seem to be the case- as I am sure all of you, (active members of this forum clearly demonstrating your desire and ability to transfer to the top schools) and myself, are among the top candidates for transfer and are still awaiting notification.
Frankly, it just seems a bit backward from what I would expect- If a school states that its admissions decisions will be available a certain day, they should be available that day. Where is the accountability? Berkeley and LA have the right idea- although the date of notification may be later than the proposed date for other schools, at least we know what to expect and when.

BTW- Ive never posted this, here are my stats:
GPA: 4.0
Honors Transfer Program & Class
Concurrent Enrollment with UCB (I’ve been taking classes there for 2 semesters now)
UCB Mentorship Program
EC’s: Started two businesses, financial planning internship, work with Washington Mutual, volunteer with First Tee, etc…

“If a school states that its admissions decisions will be available a certain day, they should be available that day.”

Thats not fair though, the school have always given a date range.

“Thats not fair though, the school have always given a date range.”
Matt, I appreciate your response, but my point is that the date range is not necessary to begin with. I would implore the school to choose the last date in that range if they feel that they require that much time to make decisions. I believe that evidencing the top two schools (Berkeley and LA) is reasonable in the way that they have moved away from the rolling admissions and simply posted a date on which they will make all admissions decisions known.

Cal_girl, I used to get panick attacks all the time. Your heart starts to race and feels really tight, you think you’re having a heart attack and you can’t catch your breath. Distraction and deep breathing worked the best for me.

how do rolling admissions work for these UCs? Do they release them at a certain hour of the day or continous as the day goes on?

Sigh, there’s no point in checking every single day; I will just wait for the formal letter.

i think UC just love to tease us and play w/ our minds…

Especially SD w/ that mid march, UCLA late april crap. just give a date, release at least some decisions daily when they are ready. U make 400 decisison a day or something like, release them… Let people have an opportunity to move on and ponder their next moves/plans.

Aj, you fundamentally don’t understand the process: it isn’t rolling admissions; that’s very different. The problem ISN’T with the schools, it’s with NEUROTIC applicants. To say that you would prefer they all release decisions on the last possible date is ridiculous, but that’s what you said! Just because of neuroticism, you would rather have all the decisions released as late as possible, delaying the ability of thousands of applicants to receive notice.

Seriously, either you don’t understand why there is a delay or you don’t understand why neurotic applicants are to blame and not the schools. The delay has nothing to do with the “strength” of your application, nor has any school ever said that, but it seems like you are unable to understand.

Nah I appreciated my March 1st UCI acceptance. Cause I was expecting it to come April 1st and it just hit me by surprise and I jizzed in my pants. And it’s not like I don’t have to wait either, I’m still waiting for my UCSD.

fri is good bet for sd/sb.

I am not likely to go to these schools. i hope i don’t take someone’s spot… But i don’t think thats the case for transfer student, but who knows…

I AM OFFICIALLY A MEMBER OF COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL 300 POSTS AND COUNTING. YES SWEET!!! Goodluck on your decisions.

like a month ago, i wasn’t sure if i will get to 1000 b4 ucla decisions come out, now i think i have a remote chance at 2000.

aji1234 has a very good point, and I totally agree with him. Why should some people get an early release, while others endlessly wait for their turn??? UCLA and Cal are doing a good job releasing their decisions on the same day for all of us.

some people are special, unlike us haybaxt :(
