why oh why does waiting have to suck so much?

lol Kudos, i was talking about community college, not college confidential. You guys are much more awesome than the winners at my school. On a regular basis they say things like, “So, you mean Social Contract Theory is kind of like in The Matrix when he has to take the red pill or the blue pill?”. All I wanna say is “No, actually it’s not like that at all in any way and thanks a lot for lowering all of our IQs by 10 points AND waisting our time. Thanks, really”

well, at least someone didn’t ask why you can’t divide by 0 in an advanced calculus class…

“No, actually it’s not like that at all in any way and thanks a lot for lowering all of our IQs by 10 points AND waisting our time. Thanks, really”

LOL. Tons of matrix allusions in my first year philosophy class also.

did that really happen hobo?

yes… also, one of the funniest things that happened was when my microecon prof yelled at a class of 300+ because this chick asked how he got the equation for the line… he was like “***, YOU’RE IN COLLEGE, HOW THE HECK DO U NOT KNOW HOW TO GET A LINE?!” imagine yelling that except with an indian accent. My friends and i were laughing so hard.

*** = ? What did he say?

Wow, hobo. She was probably so embarrassed since the professor took the time to yell at her. haha.

Ahhhh. Back to the routine. I need to get out of here or at least find something productive to do.

Lol hobo. Usually ppl are to shy to respond or ask in my lectures.

You should’ve defended the poor chick or said something to her afterwards…;)

hahaha… the pretty ones sit in the back ;)

i used to go to that lecture just because the professor would get mad and yell at people. Reminded me of the Russel Peters comedy show, “Somebody’s gonna get a hurt real bad, somebody”.

in one of my poli sci classes my prof asked if anyone can name a country with a federal system of government. a guy raises his hand and says “isn’t africa one?” my prof just stares at him and i hold my laughter in. suddenly my prof says “AFRICA IS A CONTINENT!” and rolls his eyes and the whoooooole class starts laughing and i couldn’t help it and had to join them.

I sit in the front…hmmmm. Man, I wish my teachers would tell these kids what they need to hear. Politeness is overrated…

hahahahaha that professor is badass

the smart hot ones sit in the front ;)

i don’t mind the lack of knowledge b/c it’s not all their faults, some of the HS teachers are just ridiculous.

It’s the some of the rude and disrespectful students that drive me crazy. In my econ class, every class my prof has to tell some of these students to shut their pie holes several times… Now thats just really ridiculous.

My favorite professor ever was a professor who didn’t hold back at all from telling a student he/she is DEAD WRONG when they ARE DEAD WRONG!

hey guys… i am off to sleep… I wish everyone a great up coming week. We are due to get some rain, but i hope that not gona ruin anyone’s spirits…

My last week was pretty lousy, sub par performance on exams, no news about schools, dissapointments from so called friends…

I hope to have a better one…

that’s why i think attendance should never be mandatory. It allows the people who don’t want to be there to do whatever they want and lets the people who want to be there / learn do so in a good environment.

I’ve recently started to tell kids to be quiet myself. I’ll just turn around and be like “shhhhh!” with the dirtiest look imaginable. It’s actually kind of fun because it’s not like the teacher’s going to yell at you for it or anything. You come off as kind of a jerk, but it’s well worth it.

I think that those who WANT to learn should be told they are wrong EVEN MORE than the other students. If students weren’t often wrong, then why would they be going to school!!? It seems like we often forget that. I appreciate when a professor tells me I’m flat out wrong.

hobo, it’s not mandatory. they just treat it like a weekly gathering of dumb asses.

i was referring to highschoolda’s post about student’s being disruptive.

I see, hm… that’s strange. In my local CC, my friends tell me that all the profs. take roll. Sucks for them i guess.
