yes, it is almost positive to me today is waitlist day and tomorrow is rejection day. Holistic means higher GPA and SAT does not guaranteed admission while lower GPA and SAT into the same major will be accepted.
Waitlisted but I don’t plan to attend.
Major: Biological Sciences (not actually sure, but something with bio)
UC GPA: 3.85 or 3.89 (at time of application)
UW GPA: Like 3.5?
SAT: 1750
ACT: 27
Some EC’s
Not that great essays
Nine aps (five this year)
Congras to everyone who got accepted though! And good luck to those wait-listed, or those who haven’t heard back yet!
Darn just got waitlisted. Also got waitlisted at Davis, SD, SC. Got into CSU Pomona at least so I have a backup that I would be glad to go to for a year or two.
I’m CS major with 4.4 weighted, idk UC GPA.
2000 SAT, 2010 Superscore
Senior load 5 AP Class: Econ (macro micro), Lit, Physics, BC
Took CS as Sophomore (4), Chemistry as Junior (3)
Huge upward trend from Freshmen-Sophomore
Essays I will say are very poor, I am extremely average I haven’t done anything awesome. I guess only appealing thing to college would be low economic standings.
I’m disappointed that they appear to be following the same trend as last year regarding rolling admissions.
Well there’s still LA and Berkeley, but I can only guess the trend there!
well to my brothers with no response, at least know whether we are accepted or rejected??? Not wait listed!!!
UC waitlist info page:

Just got waitlisted, pretty disappointed but mostly frustrated with this whole excruciating process lol.
In state, applied undeclared social science
1980 SAT, 740 SAT II Literature, GPA 3.89 UW, 4.05 Weighted i think, not sure what my UC gpa is
Lead alto saxophone in several music ensembles throughout high school,
Really good essays I thought
Probably waitlisted because my grades weren’t super impressive and they didn’t have a lot of AP’s available at my school
Accepted: UCSC, Chico, Oregon State
Rejected: UCD, UCSD
Waitlisted
Designated Major: Psychology(social behavior)
UC GPA: 4.01
Unweighted: 3.8
SAT: 1820
Essays: There’s probably something incredibly wrong with them after getting this waitlist.
Accepted: UCD
Rejected: UCSD (probably ucla and berkely with my sat scores lol)

I got rejected to UCSD and waitlisted to Davis
@baymaxu congrats! did you just check now or was it updated right now?
**Decision: Waitlisted! **

[] Summer Activities: Just some community service, not a lot of programs
[] Essays: Pretty bad imo, went back and found a lot of missing words and grammatical errors…5.5/10. One talked about struggles of volunteering at an underprivileged elementary school and the other was a story from 7th grade about being teased for using a wheelchair with a broken leg. I didn’t have enough upper body strength to use crutches because i was chubby lol.

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Strong willingness to give back to the community, EC
[] Weaknesses: SAT scores, GPA, mediocre personal statements
[] Why you think you were waitlisted: I think UCI can see how I can use them to give back to the community and the willingness to challenge myself academically even though my results aren’t perfect. Were probably very concerned with test scores compared to other applicants that can hold the same traits.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Waitlisted @ UCSB, Rejected @ UCSD, UCLA
[/ul]General Comments:[list]
[*] Definitely opting-in. Of course I’m not as happy as being admitted, but hey, at least I still have a chance to get into my #2 school (UCLA being #1)! I absolutely love this thread, I have been looking through it the past week impatiently waiting for results and constantly refreshing the portal like you guys. I still believe anyone can be admitted at this point. I wish the best to all of luck in the future!
oop sorry, double posted
Would it be bad if I were to call UCI Admissions? I’m getting desparate…
Waitlisted…the AGONY CONTINUES!!!
So I’m seeing a trend. The first wave mostly acceptances, then this wave was mostly waitlists?
