Hi everyone, I have been following this thread since the beginning, refreshing it to get updates ALL THE TIME. So much so that I feel like I’ve bonded with many of you, since I knew we were all going through the same kind of agony. I finally got my acceptance today (around 4:20pm), which I was blown away by. I thought I was certainly going to be rejected. So for all those still waiting, just hang in there. You all must be dedicated students and care a lot about your education if you’re this invested into getting into Irvine. No matter what you’re outcome is or when (if) you get ever get a decision, remember that you can be successful anywhere you go. And I hope you are happy wherever you wind up. Group mentality is toxic, so don’t lose hope because everyone else has. Hold onto it until you get your own decision. I wish you all the best of luck! :>

Funny how people are posting the time they got rejected. It’s like stating one of those ‘time of death’ things doctors always do haha. UCI’s missing out on all of our awesomeness.
If there’s one thing I can say to future applicants, UCI definitely took GPA over SAT big time.

@UTClassOf2019 Ehh, the UCs work in mysterious ways. Got waitlisted from UCLA ChemE as an in-state student, but got into UT’s top-10 ranked ChemE program (and it’s notoriously hard to get in as an OOS student). Hope to see you at UT m8 :^)

Does anyone have any stats or idea about the rate of appeals that actually get through and are accepted? I’m just wondering if its worth it because I really want to get in, but I also don’t want to waste my time if its like a one in a million shot

It’s been a long, agonizing journey friends but I just received my rejection as well. UCI was my last hope at UC’s, so looks like I’m going to have to go to Cal States or community college before transfer. Congratz to the people who got accepted
