I have a question, my son got into cal poly Pamona and UCR for engineering. Which one is a better option? Thanks

@Cantwaitdecision: I agree with @KES20022, you cannot go wrong with either school. What type of Engineering? Did you check ABET accreditation for both schools?
Both are ABET accreditation.

@Cantwaitdecision I got into both schools also and while they are both great, it really depends on what he is looking for. If you guys are local or can make it out to take a tour, maybe even specifically of the engineering department, it would help with the decision making process. The school that I originally wanted to go to is what I thought I wanted, but I went on campus tours of the two schools I was torn between and found out that one suited what I was looking for a lot more than the other. It really depends on what he wants and what school offers the kind of experience and opportunities he is looking to have.

I believe Cal Poly-Pomona is considered to have one of the best engineering schools in the country, definitely amongst the top 10. I am unfamiliar w/ UCR.
@thedumbsmartguy232 niche says UCSC is ranked higher.(#19 in California for Bio) #21 is UCR
generally speaking, for CS, SJSU is the better option since it’s surrounded by multiple prominent tech companies that hire a lot of graduates from SJSU. However, it does depend on what your preferred environment is. UCs are bigger and probably have more freedom than some CSUs.
