***UC Irvine Class of 2022 Applicants***

@kazbrekker has that ever happened? if we are accepted and we choose UCI and then s-hit happens we will lose a year and we wont have any college to attend in the fall. anyone feeling this risk? this is just not fair

UCI is probably taking longer this year to ensure that what happened last year (with taking back their acceptances) doesn’t happen. I have heard that many students appealed this though and they ended up getting in anyways. I highly doubt that it would happen for a second time. No school wants to be known as the one who accepts then rejects later on otherwise they would get a bad reputation for it.

(Also the fact that they had a larger number of applicants could impact this)

It happened last year.

@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 As long as you don’t get any D’s or F’s this year and didn’t mess up your self reported grades, you shouldn’t be scared of getting rescinded. Meet transcript deadlines too!

For the 500 they rescinded they actually let them all back in

@orionary makes sense…i was just saying…its fine if you relax… yourreasons make sense…sorry if i came off as rude

I know realistically it won’t happen a second time, but that fact still doesn’t stop me from being nervous and contemplating committing to UCI.

Rolling Admissions probably

@orionary Pause. You got into UCLA but you’re still messing with this school who can’t seem to get their admissions process together? What gives? Are you trying to see who gives you more money? Do you live closer to Irvine and are looking to attend class from home? Explica Por Favor

Some people just “vibe” with one campus over another. I know people who love Humboldt and would go there over everywhere else and there’s nothing wrong with that

I am not too high on UCI. Bad rep, bad servers = bad CS program.

@orionary just scrolled down and saw your explanation, good luck with you decision making process!

@hopelessinOC so you would recommend UCSD CS over UCI?

Admissions =/= CS program. There are benefits unique to both schools. For instance, UCI has its own School dedicated to Info + Computer Science, while other UCs have CS as part of their engineering school. I’m not too knowledgeable on UCSD though since I did not like the vibe of the campus when I toured.

I’m feeling crazy nervous for this, even tho I’m not even really a fan of UCI… When I visited, the campus and town “vibe” felt like a clone of my hometown, and my hometown is where I want to get AWAY from lmao. Then after their disorganization with the admissions process… not too hot on them right now. I guess I’ve just had so many waitlists that it’d be nice to get a few more acceptances lol

UCSB decisions are out

@nerdgirl97 is it bad?

UCI ended up admitting all but a few of the 500 that they rescinded. They took responsibility and admitted it was their mistake and they handled it. The few remaining students whose acceptances were truly rescinded were for reasons that did not meet their conditional acceptance. For example: they earned a D or F in one or more of their classes senior year, drastically changed their senior schedule from the one they reported when they applied, etc.

denied at UCSB…Waitlisted at UCSC…down to UCI and UCR… :-S

just got rejected by UCSB…not sure if i should bother even checking my UCI portal now
