Welp got waitlisted by BU
Not sure if this is allowed to post other CC links BUT The first post on this page shows the days when UCI posted decisions in the past years.
It’s been 5(I think?) years since UCI hasn’t posted before Saint Patrick’s Day. Someone else in the thread link posted above brought up a good point that the college might wait because they want to see who would truly be committed to the waitlist and who wants to commit to another school instead of playing the waiting game again. Looks like there won’t be any decisions this weekend given the history. I guess this means I should go to Disneyland tomorrow instead of waiting aroud at home loool
Does anyone have any knowledge/evidence of the 3/16/18 UCI date? Of course, they could switch it up but last year according to UCI 2021 College Confidential threads people started talking about being waitlisted on Tuesday, 3/21/17 and then acceptances starting the next day. UCSB released theirs on Monday, 3/20/17, before UCI #whitescreen
UCI says anytime March 1-31: http://www.admissions.uci.edu/apply/dates-deadlines.php
UCSB posted this on the portal:
Decisions are being posted on this site beginning on March 20, 2018 for most freshman applicants. Decisions for transfer applicants are being announced beginning that day and continuing until May 1.
Maybe if so many people stopped trying to log in at once, it will work.
They should do staggered by last name like Santa cruz(?)
I read somewhere that the final decisions should come out next week. It’s odd that the portal is still white though, I don’t know if I should be worried or not.
This is the table I’ve been following but I guess it isn’t as accurate anymore:

My friend who is a transfer heard back from SC two days before the notification date. It’s also now mid-march and you freshmen haven’t heard back from Irvine yet so
@Volatyl I don’t think it’s a sign of anything other than too many people attempting to reauthenticate login simultaneously and then the connecting is hanging. Prior to the white screen there was nothing posted to view re: status. Just said no messages.
has UCI said anything about this?
I doubt they would push admissions out on a weekend because the minute they do the get emails/phone calls etc and they would need staff to cover
@kclcjc I actually woke up at 6:00am (around 3:00am in California) to check the portal and it was still white. I don’t think that many people were trying to log in at that time. At this point I’m convinced the website simply crashed and they weren’t submitting our admission decisions at all. Sighs.
Decisions (acceptances only) lasts for three days. Then one day for waitlists and another day for rejections. Decisions start rolling exactly two weeks before March is over, which means it should start today. But since it is Saturday, it might not be today and will start on Monday.
I see on here that they also notified some people on 2/22 on the portal. Honors?
@kclcjc Yes, I’m only talking about regular decisions.
@SmartGurl17 Was this the case last year? (post 1712)
Did anyone ask their admission counselor at all? I mean, I would, but it seems awkward to ask.
Can they release on Sarturday?
@security18 This was the case for 2015 and 2016.
Also, they usually have a day where portal is shut down before decisions. Since it shut down in the afternoon yesterday, it is possible decisions could come out in the evening after 24 hours since it last shut down.
@SmartGurl17 good to know, thx
Also based on previous years, after the first wave of acceptances…the later you get the decision the Morelikely younare to get rejected…so let’s pray that we are all in the first wave
