Chances are dependent upon on how many admitted students enroll by May 1 and how many spots are still available after that date. The waitlist admits can vary from year to year and below is the data for the last 3 years.

Does the total admits used to calculate the Selectivity % iinclude the # of students who got off the Waitlist?

Since the major data information is posted well after the Fall students are enrolled, it could include those that are admitted off the waitlist. You could always contact admissions and ask.

anyone have a rough estimate on when they’ll release decisions/when the final acceptances will be sent out?

Here are the waitlist timelines for the last 3 years:

2022: 1st wave April 19, 2nd wave April 24, trickle of admits June 6, June 17. Waitlist closed July 9.

2023: April 19, 2023 few waitlist admits. Few International along with IS admits on May 2, 2023. Small wave May 11 and May 18. UCI denials on June 30.

2024: Thursday April 18, 2024 Few Engineering admits. Admits Tuesday May 21 and Admits June 5. Waitlist closed end of June.

i haven’t heard back yet. i was so sure that the first wave would come out this week! maybe it will come out later today (i am so delusional)

ik i was checking the portal every second.. it might be next week they might need more time bc of the crazy number of applicants this year

I’ve heard that UCI has sent out financial aid offers to some waitlisted students. Does anyone know if this is true?

Why didn’t we get a wave of waitlist acceptances mid April like the past few years? Does this mean anything?

Every year is different so all you can do is move on until you hear.

yea two of my friends got off the waitlist for applied math and data science! wondering why irvine released decisions so fast unlike the other ucs.
