UC IRVINE Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

Yes it is a stressful time for everyone but if there were a delay it is important to keep students in the loop. I am sure everyone here would understand a delay during the current situation but to keep applicants blind does not seem like the right choice here

well said.

Every time I log in I see
“Thank you for applying to UCI!” Me: oh am I rejected
“What’s next?”
Me: nvm

Been like this for a week if anyone is willing to share some patience with me I think we need to ration some

@hoshizora WHY IS THIS ME I AM LAUGHING SO HARD ITS SAD LOL

i get a mini heart attack then get sad x)

i feel it in my bones that tomorrow is the day… i so hope we all get good news ;-;

I feel once I get the email I’m gonna be too nervous to open it lmao, like damn I’ve waited this long…but now I’m scared XD

I’ve heard the email doesnt come until a few days after your portal gets updated but im not sure.

Oh okay! That’s interesting if it does work that way too for UCI. Ik when I got my UCSC acceptance my email came a couple hours later!

Your update on the portal comes first then the email comes after. Idk about days but I got my email 2 hours after I had gotten my portal updated. I want to say about 99% of the students that find out is because they keep constantly check their portal

I guess the way I’m looking at it is…Is there really a delay? Isn’t it still early April? Did they make a definite statement that decisions will be released the first week of April or are we all assuming they would be based on past decisions?

@fulloffaithh i have strong tomorrow vibes too

When they posted the “important announcement” on instagram saying decisions will be released “in the month of April”, did they mean they’re not following the previously announced timeline anymore? The one from this website? https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/campus-admission-notificcation-deadlines-2020.pdf

Like they no longer promise early April decision for TAG, just any time in April?
I really hope they didn’t mean that. So tired of waiting!

I can definitely relate to the cabin fever thing though. I live on the bottom floor and I have a cat that sits in the window. Neighbors keep coming over to “talk” to her. Then they started bringing what presumably are other neighbors. I put a sign in the window that basically says, thanks for visiting but remember social distancing. They keep coming over with a gang of different people and I’m about ready to wallpaper the window so my cat has to use a higher window.

Being that it’s only the 6th of April, I assumed it’s still early April. I would consider this entire week is still early April. Next week, not so much. We’re in mid April by then.

Is there a reason why people believe it’ll come out tmrw? If it came out last year April 2nd, that’s a wednesday isnt it?

@maraccge There isn’t really a delay tbh, so long as TAG applicants know by the end of this week. Because after the 12th it’s not really considered early April anymore. I think honestly we’re just brimming with anticipation. And for me, being cooped up isn’t helping because I can’t really distract myself from the wait except with homework and Overwatch. But I’m distracted from my homework and games because I’m waiting to find out if I got in xD

And, personally, I’m pretty bummed about school being online and being stuck inside. I could really use a morale booster.

April 2nd last year was a Tuesday, so I think we are just assuming it’ll be on a Tuesday because that at least has been pretty consistent with UCI

last year april 2nd was a tuesday. In the previous year (2018), first wave admissions for TAG were also released on a tuesday, which is why a lot of people are guessing tomorrow will be the day

I just keep thinking why even bother making that insta post lol, don’t we already know decisions will be posted in April

@tinymango I’m with you there. I’m not thrilled about school being online. I need a little structure and I’m also distracted by the anticipation. I TAG’d UCI too. It would be nice if we got decisions earlier. I was pleasantly surprised when I got accepted to Santa Cruz because I assumed all decisions might be a little late given the present situation.

@maraccge Same here! I’m thankful they were early, kind of makes me feel a little better knowing I got into at least one UC so far.

And if you don’t mind me asking, what major did you TAG for? I tagged as a psychological science major.
