I am mad. I have been waiting a long time for this. I just want to know already if I am going to transfer to my back up(CSULB) or go to my dream school.
I’m a Data Science applicant and one of the requirements is to take one year of computer programming courses. It specifically says no introduction to computer science courses. The classes I’ve taken directly correlate and satisfy their requirements for UCI (equivalent courses to I&C SCI 31-33). But the issue is the name of the classes I’ve taken were literally “Introduction to Computer Science”. I also made sure to check on the course equivalence from UCR to UCI and the classes I took check out. I have also taken most of UCI’s additional approved course list for Data Science which includes a lot more CS classes. I’m wondering that even though the name says “Intro to CS” will the admissions officers realize that the classes satisfy their requirement, even though they have a name like that?
Hello. I’m a computer science major trying to transfer to UCI as well. I think that as long as you take the CS prep classes that articulate, then you’ll be fine. I took more CS classes to be on the safe side, but I think you’ll be fine.
