[] Senior Year Course Load:
[
] How were your personal statements? Rate out of 10, including the additional comments section: Honestly, my personal opinion was that they weren’t particularly well written (maybe 7/10), but I had several teachers look at them and tell me that they were fantastic (one even saying it “had the potential to be the greatest personal statement ever, and I mean that.”). They were mostly over the subject of my sort of messed up family life, and my own battles with anxiety and depression. In the additional comments, I mentioned the amount of time that I had to dedicate to helping my grandfather struggle with cancer, and how that sort of took up a lot of my time. So not quite good enough to make a grown man cry, but probably good enough to touch an admissions officer’s stony heart. 9/10
[] Supplemental?: I did get a supplemental, I basically used it to explain what I said in my personal statement in more detail, and explain some of my EC’s in more detail.
[
] Any specific e-mails from UCLA other than the supplemental that may be related to your admission decision such as the Alumni Scholarship? If so, list them: Didn’t receive any.

[/ul][ b]Reflection[ /b][ul]
[] Strengths: My personal statement and my SAT Score.
[
] Weaknesses: EXTRACURRICULARS. Honestly, I had very few good ones, and couldn’t come close to filling all of the spots on the application. What I did have was sort of unique (marching band, supporting African children in need via a school club, playing tunes for the elderly on most holidays, co-founding a progressive student’s association on campus), but seemed to absolutely pale in comparison to most people on this site. Also my GPA; I thought it would get me rejected for sure, but apparently not.
[] Are you going to UC Los Angeles?: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh decisions are hard, but probably/maybe.
[
] If not, where are you going?: I’m considering UC Irvine since I got into CHP, and I’d also gladly consider Berkeley if I got in (fingers crossed.)

[/ul]General Comments/Additional Information: Really surprised that I got in, especially as I don’t personally know anyone else that did, even among my very high achieving friends. Getting into UCLA is a pretty big honor and I’m beyond elated that I got in. Kind of stings to know that because I got in someone I care about might have been rejected, but I suppose that just means I have to be as happy about it as possible, for their sake. GO BRUINS![ list]
