this could be selection bias though
My daughters nav bar went away maybe last weekend, not exactly sure. She has had the upload for months because even though we are in state, UCSD had requested additional proof of residency because my husband holds a green card. This was all requested right after she submitted her application. I am not sure the upload / residency has anything to do with admittance but who knows?!?
yup exact same situation, I think only the nav bar timing matters

it was 4pm pst last year probably sometime around that
2 users on Reddit just said they still have the nav bar so this is likely the second wave

if that’s the 2nd wave and some people’s navbar disappeared today, then today is the 3rd wave

UCSD admitted 32, 061 in 2023
I am guessing the numbers will be proportional for other years as well. So, if UCSD admits more students than it waitlists, the first or second wave of the “disappearing banner” is probably moot.

What? People’s nav bars have gone today. And some people STILL have the nav bar. Everyone eventually loses it and the third wave is supposedly a rejection so no this is the second wave and decisions would be out next week not today right
I don’t think anyone has the nav bar, everyone on reddit is posting that it’s gone </3 isn’t it a week too early for it to already be disappearing?
Nav bar gone here but IDK when. Stopped checking at the weekend when the first wave went. Fingers crossed it’s a waitlist and not a rejection wave. This was my first choice for my son.

After reviewing Last year applicants, LOTS had their Nav Bar disappear the day before Decisions came out. Seeing as though this is a week prior, would it be safe to assume it is a second wave? Also, what percentage of waitlisted eventually get accepted?
Most schools update the portals within 24 hours of decision release. Seems weird that UCSD works so much ahead of time.
