UC Santa Barbara Class of 2029 Official Thread

Are we thinking 2:30? 3pm? 3:30?

The portal says 3:30 PST.

Portal says both 3 and 3:30pm… email from UCSB says 3pm. Per a previous post, the UCSB email in 2024 said 3pm but portal actually opened at 2:30pm… so I’ll go with 2:45pm.

I would start checking after 2:30…having done this twice, 1 daughter is currently at UCSB and another at UCLA (although my 1st daughter (COVID, 2020) was wait listed and finally admitted April 1st, my second daughter was accepted around 2:45 in 2022)

its open

Accepted for CS. 4.33 UC capped GPA, 12 APs, 20/20 ECs and awards, OOS, other UC results: UCD rejected, UCI Accepted, UCSD rejected. I swear these decisions are so random.

Seems likely to be ultimately accepted to one or more, look at the yield rates and rates of waitlisteds who get invited

GENERAL COMMENTS:

We’re from Colorado. S25 waitlisted for UCSB mech engineering with 3.7 uw, 4.3 w, 4-5 AP classes already and 3 more this year. Swim team captain, president of physics club that won awards at national invention competitions each of soph-jr-sr years and more strong STEM ecs. Got into CU-Boulder (aerospace), Colo Mines (mech). Rejected a handful of places inc. UCSD & Illinois. Waiting on some heavies. We’ll see.

Yeah looks like a ton of movement with the SB waitlist. We did not opt in for Irvine, but are hopeful for UCSD.

Yes, UCSB had a lot of waitlist admits last year. https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/uc-santa-barbara-class-of-2029-waitlist-and-appeal-discussion/

I feel for you and your kid. The stats are amazing and don’t warrant the results. I am sure UCLA or UCB will come through..
