@fashionista99 I see I hope we get it soon thanks!
I haven’t received an acceptance email either. I received a “Connect with us virtually” email about virtual events for admitted students. So I doubt I’ll receive an actual Congratulatory email at this point
I don’t know when I got accepted but I didn’t get an email neither.

Admitted!
Just now, for Science Education Major. Not my ideal major but I didn’t do the prerequisites since SC isn’t my top choice. No email which is strange… just in the portal
GPA when I applied: 3.28
Hello everyone, I am shocked that I did not get in, so I wanted to post my stats as a cautionary tale for any future transfer students. Here they are:
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.8
CCC Transfer
TAG: Yes
Status: Denied admission
As a few other posters have mentioned as well, I was denied due to “Not meeting major screening criteria.” I have taken every possible computer science course offered at my school that was relevant, including python, java, C++, and most recently, data structures. Out of curiosity I contacted admissions for the specifics. They told me I was missing python (which I did take), but it appears it did not articulate. They told me that I should have found a school that did explicitly articulate.
A year ago, when I was planning my schedule, I was told by many different people to take whichever course was most similar to the required ones, even if it did not explicitly articulate. So I guess to all future transfer students who may read this, make sure there is an explicit agreement, otherwise you may end up like me. At this point I’m nervous about a denial from the other UCs I applied to.
Did you apply for CS major in SJSU?
Hey, I’m in the same situation as you! When applying to UCSC, my Transfer Representative told me that my “Intro to Programming” course did not transfer to UCSC, and she told me to possibly take it at another College. However, she emailed me afterwards telling me that she spoke to an Engineering adviser, and that they told me to apply without retaking the Intro Programming course at the other College.
Who did you contact to get to get specifics as to why you were not accepted for CSCI? I contacted the main admissions office, and they told me to contact my transfer representative. But, when I contacted her, she told me that she didn’t have any information as of yet.
Hello there,
I wanted to TAG to UCSC this fall, and I was looking at the requirements for TAG and Python was not listed as one of the required courses. Why did they specifically mention that your Python class did not articulate if it’s not even required for TAG and can be taken after transfer at UCSC? Also, my CC (which is known for having a really good CS program and is located in a prime spot in the Silicon Valley) doesn’t have most of the courses that are listed on ASSIST, so how does that impact admission?
Also, just to. clarify, your TAG got accepted, but you weren’t offered admission, right? I. find. this to be very strange as most people whose TAG got accepted to a UC were also offered admission. Usually, your TAG and admission go hand in hand. Please keep us updated on your situation.
@Sameenafar
I did not apply to sjsu. But I have back ups fortunately. I just looked at the Santa Cruz TAG website, and as far as I can tell python IS a requirement.
But, before I recieved my rejection I never spoke to anyone to confirm the requirements, and I did not confirm what articulated. That was my mistake and my intent with this post is to tell people to be careful. I have no idea what the status of my TAG is. I applied for TAG awhile ago, and then now I received a general rejection which did not mention it.
@NSNante
I contacted my rep who was very helpful. I think my rep asked admissions and then relayed to me the classes I was missing
Is anyone planning to register for one of the virtual reception dates offered? Seems like a nice opportunity to ask questions.
I think I might attend one
Wow. I’m sorry to hear but I also believe you should appeal. I wondered the same this previous semester. For years UCSC was behind in updating their transfer requirements on assist.org. They only recently(As of last year) started to require transfers take a python cs course.
I personally winged it and didn’t take it and I got in. I’ve been in cc for a while so idk maybe they felt more compelled? Either way I think it’s insane to deny someone with your stats.
CS doesn’t have python as a requirement, I got in without python. Either the admission messed up or you are reporting something incorrectly. I am assuming they made a mistake so you should appeal and talk to them.
Does anyone know when financial aid packages will be sent out? I was accepted March 20th and got my acceptance letter 2 weeks later (no email).
how do we know if were regents?
I just got an update on the portal I havent gotten anything else since the update (March 31st)
I never did my Fafsa, i assume that means I cant get regents
I got an email today telling me I got the Deans Undergraduate Scholarship! 8k over two years which is pretty sweet.
@failerrod Congrats!
Thank you!! I’ll probably end up going since the money would really help out!
