If you look at Saturday 4/28 they already updated the number for the email they are going to send. I think it’s safe to say they won’t send any emails within that period
on saturday 4/28 that’s for transfers i think
THE FACT IS IF THEY WERE ACCEPTING PPL THEY WOULD HAVE SOMETHING on their calendar. RIP this blows
I agree it’s really frustrating. Why did they suddenly change their mind? They planned to release waitlist acceptances today according to the calendar.
Apparently my friend got rejected from the waitlist today (no email she just saw it on her portal) but I still haven’t received an email and my portal says waitlist so idk what’s going on.
@emma2000 is your friend a transfer or freshmen?
@adesperateant she’s a freshman (I am too)
@emma2000 are you sure it was a waitlist rejection or was it a denial of her appeal? they are two different things
@shaswizzle She did not appeal
Nothing yet on my end…
We don’t know yet. May 1 is the final deadline to commit to a school.
After that only will they be able to decide whether or not they need to admit people off the waitlist
Do you think it’s gonna be rough this year to get off?
@HelloThere12321 why do you say that?
If they really have gotten 4.4k SIRs then they over admitted and will not accept people off the waitlist
@HelloThere12321 do you have evidence that they got 4.4k SIRs?
someone commented a few pages ago about how they figured it out. It is totally possible that there wil still be spots and that waitlisted people will be accepted
@HelloThere12321 i don’t think it’s that many SIR’s thats just how many people either accepted or rejected their admission
would it be possible to send a screenshot of her rejection? with personal info blurred out @emma2000
@vinashana no I already asked her quite a lot of questions about it and I don’t rly wanna be insensitive and ask her for that seeing as she was pretty disappointed
@Hellothere12321: UCSC has in the past, offered opt ins for the waitlist even if they did not admit anyone off the waitlist that year. Too many people are speculating on all these waitlist threads. No one should expect to hear anything until May 1 since all SIR’s are due May 2. I was really surprised the UCSC stated on their calendar that they would be posting waitlist results. This year especially, I have seen many threads of applicants still trying to decide where they will attend and many waiting to the last minute to make that decision. I believe UCSC is playing it safe and will hold off making an waitlist decisions until they have all the numbers in so in another week, hopefully if there are spots available, they will start sending out acceptances. Remember that it does not matter where you go for Undergrad, your success will be defined by the opportunities you are willing to seek out at any school you attend.
Thank you
