@hoppy1 I remember reading something that showed the GPA CCC vs UC was basically the same, a minor drop. I can’t find it but I did find the “average” GPAs transfer vs freshman. While these are low because they are the average, what it does show consistently is that transfers have higher “averages” than their native counterparts. (See link.)
In my case, my GPA went down .1 from the CCC.
And the other interesting (shocking) thing when I attended there was a site (in addition to Berkeleyside, I forget the name) that showed the final grade distribution in detail for each class and virtually all — even engineering — were As and Bs, with just a few Cs and the random D. Engineering had a higher B-cluster. Now that bothers many engr students because they were top dog A students at the CCC.
Assuming your son did well at the CCC he should be fine.
