So I’m enjoying reading this thread. Congratulation to all who have been accepted. Wanted to share my experience.

My son is currently a sophomore at UCF. Graduated May 2014. Had decent GPA 3.6UW/4.2 W, but really poor test scores. ACT22, SAT 1600. From a fantastic high school and was loaded with ECs, sports, work etc. It never was explicitly said - but I think he got in under the Top Ten Knight program. He is very happy there and totally holding his own in the Business College. He applied early September and found out right before Christmas - I’ll never forget!

His year there were some problems with Admissions. We had several friends have issues with transcripts never getting attached properly, delays, etc. One or two that never heard anything!!

@mrslac1 my only advice is to call Admissions and speak to them. It is a shame if UCF misses out on a bright student like yours.

My youngest is a junior in high school. He took the “old” SAT for the first time on Saturday. I can already feel the stress creeping into my shoulders! He is a better tester - but you never know till those scores come in. Thus I am on College Confidential seeing what the climate is for Class of 2016.

Good luck everyone.

@Boomer14 I totally sympathize re: the feelings of stress. Hopefully for your sake your youngest will be a “one and done” for the SAT. Good luck to him!

@Boomer14 , Thanks, we did email them around the 8 week mark and they confirmed they rec’d everything and gave a generic answer about rolling decisions, blah blah blah  At this point i’m just curious what their decision turns out to be since he has already decided on UA.

Good luck to your youngest! The waiting stinks!

accepted to UCF three days after submitting my transcript
& to TBHC about a week after mailing my application

It has been officially 2 months since my daughter submitted her application to UCF. Although, she has chosen to go to FAU as she was accepted into the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing with a scholarship, it would still be nice to see a UCF offer. Personally, UCF was the preferred choice for me as it is just 5 minutes from our home. However, I support her choice and I know she will succeed.

By the way, my daughter applied to 6 schools, was accepted to 4 all with scholarship offers. She is still waiting to hear from University of Florida and of course UCF. Acceptances came from Adventist University in Orlando, University of Alabama, University of Alabama-Birmingham (this was her top choice) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

Good Luck to all who are still waiting. If you have already moved on and made a decision to attend another college, I wish the best of luck in your future endeavors.

I’m still waiting to hear from UCF, and I applied in August for Fall. I’ve been accepted to Michigan State, Alabama, and USF, but nothing from UCF. I’m in the same boat as your daughter. I wonder when we will hear.

Its been pretty quiet so not sure if there weren’t any more acceptances that went out? Or people just aren’t posting. I think deferrals for last years class went out in January. So I am thinking will be about the same this year? But not sure about “not accepted”. It almost appears we will just assume not accepted if we dont get an acceptance or a deferral in several months. That is what makes the waiting hard. I wish that were sooner just so we knew something. I would even be happy with a deferral at this point just so we can enjoy the holidays a bit and reface everything in January. What makes it even more difficult is constantly getting mailings from them bragging about the school’s credentials and why she should apply. I giggled at the first one that came AFTER she went to the open house. But several more have come and now I think its mean and I am beginning to wonder if they even have her application!! Just keep waiting I guess. Congrats to everyone else who knows.

@BAmom1996, DS is also still waiting for a decision. He was accepted to FSU last week, but still nothing from UCF.

@mrslac1 my son got rejected from FSU and no news from UCF… You said your son is set to attend UA, does this mean you will be rejecting FSU’s offer of admission?

@Lurdes777, ds applied to FSU as a backup, they don’t offer a Aerospace major, so unless he decides to change his major (which I doubt) he will not be attending. He is all set on going to UA. I think the only game changer at this point is if he got accepted to UF, but we highly doubt he will. Good luck to your son, I hope he hears from UCF soon.

Congrats Future Knights! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

@mrslac1 thank you. It is so disheartening to see your child disappointed…He is planning to send his updated first semester transcripts to all schools he hasnt heard from.

Hi @vbspeechie! Thanks for the update. Quick question, you applied for Fall admission and they suggested summer 2016 instead? I ask because I am an alum, currently have a brother there who is a junior at UCF and my little brother (applied in July for Fall 2016) GPA unweighted: 3.2 and ACT: 25 (just took one last weekend to boost score for brightfutures) was completely REJECTED…yes I am so upset as is he, considering the legacy there. They did not offer deferment to better scores or grades, nor did they suggest summer…do you have any advice?

Does anyone know whether or not you can apply for summer after being rejected for fall?

@UCFalum So his account actually said “rejected”? I am just verifying because no one has said that yet on this forum. I am new to all of this, but I have read in other places, maybe old forums, that people have called or emailed for a more specific reason. Or to find out if there is anything else that can be done. But if it were from an older post, things change pretty fast in the application world so may not be so anymore. I hope you get some answers.
