Good job Angelexia
And hopefully you can withdraw and give one more person a chance to get into UChicago.

@angelexia, I told you! Congratulations! Itās really an honor to have spoken to you (through here). I donāt know very many intelligent people if any at all. Good job(:

Hi everyone! Iām very sad (but actually kinda thrilled, not going to lie), that I wonāt be attending school with you all next year. I will, however, be about a 45 minutes away in Evanston, because Iām going to be in Northwesternās Medill School of Journalism!

If you want, I can still bring the punch to your closet party. ;)

Congrats @ohhayitsme ! Iām so jealous of you guys⦠I could never get into those schools so Iām not sure why I believe I can get into Chicago? I got a 26 on my ACT. Iām happy that they donāt only consider test scores but Iām just a pessimist at heart. Itās nice to talk to successful students like you guys.

@ohhay congrats! iāll miss you too, but i might end up at northwestern if uchicago doesnāt work out, so i might see you around ;0 and youāre welcome in my closet party anytime

@ohhayitsme @angelaxia @impressionistic AHH congratulations guys! Iām so happy for you :)

And @carter001 donāt feel discouraged, Iām sure youāre wonderful in other ways ^__^

YāALL ARE WONDERFUL AND AMAZING PPL
NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN THE NEXT SIX DAYS, KNOW THAT YOU DESERVE THE BEST IN THE WORLD. But it can only be the best if you make it to be.

I donāt know. My next choice after Chicago is Reed College but I donāt think Iāll ever be able to love it like I love UChicago. Iāll never be happy anywhere! Maybe angelaxia shouldnāt withdrawal her app? If she gets accepted, Iāll just take her spot! Thatās what friends are forā¦

@carter001 Oh, your words warm my heart
It was an honor to talk with all of YOU!
Alas, I withdrew my app already, but have no fear @carter001 you do have a chance!
@ohhayitsme Congratulations!!! I have many friends who call Evanston home, youāll love it there!!!

@angelaxia
@ohhayitsme

Congratulations both of you guys!! I hope you have so much fun in college.
And for all of us still waiting to hear back from UChicago, good luck! Wednesday canāt come soon enoughā¦

Congratulations

AHHHHH IM SO HAPPY FOR ALL OF
YOU!!! You guys are all talented and smart and will go very far in life. Hereās hoping we will meet somewhere along the paths of our crazy, unknown futures.

@impressionistic is LSE one of your top schools? How do they do finaid?

Iāve been like a pendulum throughout this whole process; at one moment I feel pretty confident that Iāll get in, and the next I feel like there is no way. I just want to know at this point! Gah!

Good job, ohhayitsme

If Chicago doesnāt work out, Iām going to apply to Northwestern, so I might see you there.

@debater iām gonna do that too, so maybe weāll see each other :)

Can I just pop in and say you guys definitely have the best ED thread. Iām a Cornell EDāer and I keep coming to read this thread, ours, though 70something pages long, is nowhere near as interesting! Am I right in assuming there are lots of tumblr people hereā¦?

I want you all to go to UChicago because I know you would be perfect but having yāall with me wouldnāt be too bad either.

Thank you everyone for all the sweet wishes!! Youāre all so sweet. :)

Good job angelaxia, I guess no dollar milkshake for you. Everyone else we have a date to look up to. Going to college is such an exciting process.

Iām more of an instagram-er but tumblr is nice as well. You guys wanna hear a joke? I made it up in government class but no one laughed at the joke, instead they found entertainment in my lack of humor⦠I needed you guys!

Thatās AMAZING ohhayitsme! Congratulations!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I love this thread and how sweet you all are.

neontissues, I honestly donāt even know where I would put LSE right now because I never expected to get in. It sounds stupid and counter-intuitive but I applied to Cambridge and LSE sort of as a dream, thinking it would be wonderful if I got in and understandable (and likely) if I didnāt. I donāt really know how to process the possibility as a reality. Small town America to central London would definitely be a huge shift, and my offer is conditional upon my AP and IB results that I wouldnāt have until July, so I would really have to think long and hard about all the risks I would be taking. I donāt know how financial aid works because I am blessed enough that it isnāt a factor. I know UK schools arenāt generally good with aid to foreigners, though.
