I did the numbers essay! I wrote about how odd half an idea was and how uncomfortable it would be to never be whole if you kept dividing in half. Each sentence had an odd number of words, I had an odd number of paragraphs, and overall the essay itself had an odd number of words. I pointed it out at the end
Hopefully I get it!

@mbd2297 SAME FUCK PENN

Did anyone by chance just get an email about hispanic/latino scholarships??

Got deferred by Northwestern. I’m sad, but honestly, I would rather go to UChicago. I had both colleges in mind for quite some time but focused on Northwestern since I like Evanston. I didn’t apply for UChicago until after their EA extension, and as I was doing more research into the school I really fell in love with it (more so than Northwestern, which I still love).

Here’s hoping we all get good news this Wednesday
( :(( sorry I’m still sore).

@Peezus SAME SAME SAME

Did anyone else got an email about scolarships for international students with an hispanic background? As a latino, and an international student im torn between hoping that it means something good , or resignation that they sent it to everyone with only 2 days left to get the results (that wpuld be a pretty cruel move)

@az2591 today was so bad haha hope wednesday is better

Hello everyone! I got a B on my APUSH exam

@Davidleo I’m also Latina and I got the email, but no one else made a note of getting it.

It’s probably no big deal, but I wonder if it only went out to those who designated themselves as Hispanic?

Can we get a count on ED rejects hoping to get into UChicago? (like this post if you are)

@Jamesesesess I know right?? Same here. What about UChicago attracts you more than does NU?

Everyone that got into their ED’s, please please please withdraw your applications?

we’re almost there!

@Davidleo Yes, the scholarship mail was a generic bulk mail…

I read that some people who got in ED aren’t withdrawing their applications until they see what kind of financial aid they get. Which I kind of understand but it still sucks that they’re doing that. I mean you should kind of know what you are getting into with ED…

@RDTroll You were also deferred by NU? Sorry to hear
it’s kind of more crushing because now I know it’s still an option but I wouldn’t know until April if I get in or not… I read on Wikihow or something that you can call the admissions office and see exactly why you were deferred, I think I might do that tomorrow lol. Probably my serious lack of ECs and fairly average ACT (31). I wish they did a January ACT… I’m definitely doing the January SAT whether I get into UChicago or not.

I really like UChicago’s “house” division. It sounds really quirky and kind of up my lane; I like the idea of dorms being small communities. I got really excited looking at all the different dorm buildings and their houses and found some pretty perfect matches haha. I’ve known from the start that their Psychology program is more renowned than Northwestern’s, but also the fact that they have one of the best business schools in the country (business is my second option after Psychiatry) appeals to me too since it gives me more options, and I’m sure that getting my undergrad from UChicago would increase my chances of getting into Booth.

What I liked more about Northwestern is that their campus appears to have more modern architecture than UChicago, and Evanston is absolutely beautiful, but being in Chicago itself also appeals to me. I’m a small town boy meant to be born in the city so I really just want to go in head first and drown myself in the culture.

Gah. This really is heartbreaking because I love both schools so much. I feel like I’m having to pick my favorite child (or parent?).

@alleycat2 i agree. just a few withdrawals of apps can translate to acceptances or at least deferrals for people who really want to go to uchicago and didn’t ed somewhere else for that reason.

@Awflapjackz Yeah, seriously. If they are kind of on the edge with anyone, I think that application withdrawals would be a reason to admit those people. But who knows, maybe they don’t do that and just leave everything as is… I guess we’ll never really know, but it seems like there were quite a few ED people who also applied to UChicago.

anyone checked their uchicago account page just now? is it only my hallucination due to stress or the entire page of our profile got smaller and narrower? i am talking crazy things am i…? ~X(

looks like too much anime is hallucinogenic and bad for mental well-being…

@mahoushojo No you’re not crazy I see it too! That’s so random haha!
