@Globehead He has some great options, but it’s really disheartening that someone with such amazing stats and EC’s etc is waitlisted or denied by 4 of his public schools. I keep seeing similar stories on CC and it just doesn’t feel right. And the “rolling admissions” adds insult to injury. Best of luck to him! Obviously, he will do well wherever he chooses to go.
@globehead U Dub is a good option, one that my S is also considering. Great campus, great curriculum.

9/10 My essay was all connected to law and leadership starting from what inspired me to pursue law/criminology to the things that sharpened my skills in debating. Also talked about art and how it allowed me to gain different perspectives which I also connected to law.

Son waitlisted. Applied for CS with Software Engineering as alternate major
4.27 UC GPA, 1400 SAT, Strong/related ECs, good essays.
In-state
Looks like it will be SDSU where he was accepted to CS and the Weber Honors College, or UCSC where he was accepted to CS, invited to their College Scholars Program and was awarded a Merit Scholarship. He is disappointed since UCI was his first choice, but I am very grateful that he has two other good options.

I got waitlisted sometime between 1:00 and 2:44 (I was in class and didn’t have waitlist before but did have waitlist after) and I still haven’t gotten an email about a status update. Was there a mistake or something? ? my boyfriend’s brother apparently got waitlisted when he enrolled but got accepted on April 1st. He admits that it was a few years ago, but it did at least happen-

@2stressedout two of my friends of heard from uci for another major at my schoool on sat. Its not based on location. But, a lot of people havent heard back for enginnering related subjects like cs, cse, mathematics, and data science at my school
@2stressedout I doubt it. Several students at my school got their decisions and others are still waiting.
